Dr. Fudge's research program is currently funded by a Discovery Grant from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). Along with Dr. Todd Gillis, he is the recipient of a Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) Leaders Opportunity Fund Grant, with matching funding from the Ontario Research Fund (ORF). Funding for our biomimetics project on designing silk-like fibres based on hagfish slime threads is provided by the Advanced Foods and Materials Network (AFMnet). Funding for research on the biophysics of the skin blistering disease Epidermolysis Bullosa Simplex is provided by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).
